AOK Computer Recycling does not export.
Exportation of metals is detrimental to the planet in many ways.
- Re-manufacture and New Manufacture are most ecologically sound when materials are indigenous or harvested near points of use.
- Exported metals land in less developed countries for cheap labor tear down. These communities are NOT equipped to deal with toxic processing by-products and are inadvertently destroying their own habitats.
Environmentally Responsible chain of action is Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.
Reduce
Upgrade, Repair, Reconfigure your company computers. Through the practice of reuse and repair the useful life of computers and other types of electronic technology can be extended saving money, natural resources and wear on the environment. Reuse
Re-sell surplus computers. By making surplus computers available to employees at nominal rates, an organization can provide a low-cost benefit to its workforce or enable staff to work at home using equipment that is familiar to them. Reuse reduces the amount of toxic and hazardous substances that may enter the environment through disposal. By extending the useful life of products energy and raw materials needed to manufacture new products are conserved which reduces the pollution associated with energy use and manufacturing.
Recycle
Recycle obsolete and outdated equipment. Active stewardship of resources preserves our children’s heritage. AOK Computer Recycling takes ownership and responsibility for all electronic material picked up from customer site or dropped off by customer, by appointment, at AOK Computer Recycling designated drop off site. All customer assets are handled in accordance with HIPAA, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, FIPPA, Financial Institution Privacy Protection Act, and Environmental Protection Agencies Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, EPA RCRA. Recycling electronic equipment conserves energy and raw materials and reduces pollution from manufacturing by product reclaimation. Schedule a pick up or drop off with AOK Computer Recycling and Services by calling 214.616.6909.
